For our third jam, we were back in the common room at The Sip Club. We were greeted to a fantastic turnout, with many familiar faces and quite a few new ones. There was even a bit of an audience at one point and I was told the music went down very well at the cheese quiz in the room next door!
Following our second jam, we reduced the number of songs down to a much more manageable number of twelve. This meant we were easily able to fit all the songs into the first session and could go a little off-piste in the second session.
And off-piste we did go! Starting with Teenage Kicks and moving onto the likes of Common People, Delilah, Creep, California Dreaming, Space Oddity, Under the Boardwalk and many more. If you were around long enough, you’d have been (un)lucky enough to hear a few of us attempting Spandau Ballet’s Gold!
Now we’ve got the songlist in good shape, we’ll leave it largely as it is, so people can keep practicing. Though we’ll make the odd change to a song here and there to introduce a little variety. Probably expect The Tide is High to be replaced next week!
Stretford Uke is a free weekly ukulele jam, welcoming players of all levels, from beginners to advanced. A fun strum along to liven up the start of the week!
