The Twelve Days of Ukeness (23rd April 2019)

Following the glorious Easter weekend, we were back at a rather warm Sip Club for our twelfth ukulele jam. Afters last week’s changes to the songlist and songbook, there were no new changes this week.

In the first session, we breezed through the songlist. Many of the songs we’re getting pretty familiar with now, and are sounding pretty good. Even if I say so myself. The latest additions were sounds pretty good too!

We tackled quite a few new songs in the second session this week, including Burning Love, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Good Vibrations, A Hard Day’s Night, La Bamba / Twist and Shout, Please Mr. Postman, Pretty Woman, Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on my Head, Stayin’ Alive, Total Eclipse of the Heart and With or Without You. A few of those were definitely a challenge, but good fun to play.

We played a few old favourites too, such as A Little Respect, Gold, Lazy Sunday Afternoon, Space Oddity and Valerie / Kung Fu Fighting. We also tackled a few lesser played songs like Alright, Come on Eileen, Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard and You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere.

Hope to see you again next week! As ever, if you have any feedback or requests for the songbook or songlist, then please do get in touch!
